Travel Directions

Barcelona El Prat Airport lies about seventy kilometres from Calella, usually one hour or more by car depending on traffic. By public transport, travellers can reach Barcelona by train and continue to the airport with the R2 Nord train or Aerobús. An airport shuttle is available from the hotel for a surcharge. Pre-booked transfers are common in package holidays.

Girona Costa Brava Airport lies about thirty four kilometres away, around forty minutes by car. It is served by several low cost airlines in summer. Buses connect the airport with Girona and the coast, but direct links to Calella are limited. Taxis and transfers are more practical.

The R1 Rodalies train runs along the coast from Calella to Barcelona, stopping at Plaça Catalunya and Arc de Triomf. The journey takes about one hour, and trains run frequently throughout the day. Multi trip tickets save money.

Coastal buses connect Calella with Lloret de Mar, Tossa de Mar and other Costa Brava resorts. Boat trips also operate in summer to Lloret and Tossa.

The C32 motorway connects Calella with Barcelona and has tolls on certain sections. Traffic is heavy on summer weekends.

Taxis operate from ranks near the station. Fares should be checked in advance for longer trips.

Walking and cycling along the promenade are the easiest ways to move within Calella and nearby Pineda de Mar.
